Name Tags/Clothing

We recommend name tags be worn by each person and attached with adhesive, yarn or other materials, rather than straight pins, which could cause harm to the animals. The Zoo is an outdoor facility, so children should dress appropriately for current weather conditions.  We also recommend wearing closed-toe shoes, socks, sunglasses, insect repellent, hats, and sunscreen. Umbrellas and rain ponchos may also be appropriate.

Chaperones must accompany children at all times. We recommend a minimum of one adult for every 10 children.

Safari Lunch Bags ($4 to $5)

Hot dog or sandwich, chips, cookies and a drink. Lunch bags must be ordered when scheduling your group adventure.

Gift Store

Find a variety of Zoo souvenirs at the ZOOFARI Outpost, located in the Barnyard Buddies petting zoo.

Champ the Train

Ride the world's finest miniature streamline train!  Built in 1951, Champ the Train is a 1/5-scale replica of the famous Florida East Coast Champion.  On a mile-long track, Champ will take you through woods, wetlands and a 110-foot tunnel.

Public Picnic Areas

Picnic tables, available on a first-come, first-served basis, are located outside the Zoo's main entrance. Lunches and coolers may be taken to the picnic areas, but may not be brought inside the Zoo.

If you are arriving by bus, drive into the bus parking lot upon arrival and circle all the way around to the bus parking area on the far side. Unload all passengers after parking. The only exception to this is buses carrying disabled passengers. These may unload near the  Admissions Area, next to the train station before proceeding to the bus parking area.
